Roadmap

The following features are planned or deferred and are not included in the current Freebase production release.

Accounts and Sync

Future account-backed features may include optional email sign-in, password reset, and favorite syncing across devices.

Ratings and Reviews

Future releases may add public place ratings, review submission, and local review drafts.

Future Account Deletion

If account creation is introduced, users will be able to request deletion of their Freebase account and associated server-side data by emailing support@thinapps.top from the same email address used for the account.

Data Deleted

For future account-backed features, deletion is expected to cover the Freebase authentication account, account profile, synced favorite place IDs, submitted ratings, review text, and other server-side data directly associated with the account.

Local Data

Favorites, review drafts, and preferences stored only on the device would not be part of a server-side deletion request. Local Freebase data can be removed by clearing the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app.

Processing and Retention

If account deletion is introduced, requests are expected to be processed within 30 days. After an account is deleted, it would not be restorable. Limited records may be retained only when required for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, or abuse prevention.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Freebase handles information in the current Android production release.

Freebase is designed to work primarily with bundled place data and information stored locally on your device. The current production release does not include accounts, cloud favorite sync, public ratings or reviews, advertising, advertising tracking, or a general-purpose analytics service.

What Freebase Stores

Freebase stores limited app data in Android app-private storage so its core features can work without an account.

This may include:

• favorite places
• recently viewed places
• photo metadata and cached images used to improve loading performance

Favorites and recently viewed places are not uploaded to a Freebase account or Freebase cloud service in the current release.

Most place, attribute, relationship, and weather-pattern data is bundled directly with the app. Browsing this bundled data does not require sending your browsing history to a Freebase server.

Network and Third-Party Services

Freebase requests only the Android INTERNET permission. It does not request precise or approximate device-location permission.

Network access is used for maps, place photos, and public photo metadata.

Google Maps

Freebase uses the Google Maps SDK for Android to display maps. Map requests can involve the coordinates of the place being viewed.

Google may receive technical information needed to provide the Maps service, including request and device metadata, IP address, a Maps SDK-specific pseudonymous identifier, crash information, and map interaction events such as panning or zooming.

Freebase does not use Android device-location permission to determine your location.

Unsplash

Freebase may use Unsplash to find and display place photos.

When a live photo lookup is needed, Freebase may send the name of the place being viewed and, for some places, the related country name. Unsplash and its delivery infrastructure may also receive normal technical request information such as IP address and connection metadata.

Public Photo Assets

Freebase may retrieve public photo metadata and image-related files through GitHub-hosted infrastructure. The requested file or path may identify the place being viewed.

These requests do not send your favorites or recently viewed history to Freebase.

Accounts, Ads, and Analytics

The current production release does not provide account creation, account login, cloud favorite synchronization, public place ratings, or place-review submission.

Freebase does not include advertising SDKs, advertising trackers, or a general-purpose analytics service, and Freebase does not sell personal information.

If these features or data practices change in a future release, this Privacy Policy will be updated before that release ships.

Retention and Deletion

Favorites and recently viewed places remain in local app storage until they are removed or replaced, the app's storage is cleared, or Freebase is uninstalled.

Photo metadata and cached images may remain until Freebase or Android clears them, app storage is cleared, or Freebase is uninstalled.

Android application backup is disabled for the current production build.

Because the current release does not provide user accounts or a Freebase cloud profile, there is no Freebase account or cloud-profile deletion process.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Freebase adds, removes, or changes features, services, or data-handling behavior.
